Chemeketa: President Considers Leaving
President Cheryl Roberts is in the running for president of Bellevue College.

COCC: Fundraiser “Meal of the Year” makes $252,000
A 37-year fundraising record has been set. The money will support scholarships for students and related COCC Foundation activities. The COCC Foundation executive director said the big bucks came in because, “They understood that COCC scholarships are based not only on need, but that our scholarship applicants have demonstrated leadership, a clear direction and perseverance in the face of adversity.”

LBCC: Chief Education Adviser to Gov. Kitzhaber visits LBCC
Chief Education Adviser, Ben Cannon, is responsible for improving completion rates in the Govenor’s 40-40-20 program. He stopped by LBCC and said, “There is a lot to look at here,” Cannon said. “It’s impressive the way LBCC is working with the student experience and emphasizing the goal of completion.”

PCC: District President Announces Retirement
President Preston Pulliams announced he’s stepping down in July 2012.

UP: Students Rock ASB with Habitat for Humanity
UP students are in Yakima, Washington participating in Portland’s Collegiate Challenge with Habitat.

UP: Students Shave Energy Use

UP students eliminated 10,900 pounds of carbon dioxide during Campus Conservation Nationals competition. ORCC VISTA Meredith Dickinson organized this!

Willamette: 10th Annual Social Powwow
University President Stephen Thorett spoke at the event and said, “Willamette respects and values its relationships with area tribes, and we continually seek ways to strengthen connections between our communities.”
