NELA Mentor 2 College Scholarship Program

The NELA® Centers for Student Success is proud to announce we are currently recruiting students for our 2012-2013 Mentor 2 College Program.

The NELA® Centers for Student Success have been helping students prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education since 2003. Mentor 2 College (M2C) is a free program designed to empower high school seniors with the skills, tools, and support necessary to achieve their postsecondary educational goals. And to help offset the cost of a postsecondary education, students who complete the Mentor 2 College program are eligible for a scholarship of up to $1,500.

Through weekly meetings with their mentors, focused college-preparation workshops, and community activities, M2C students receive assistance with college and scholarship applications, the financial aid process, the components of financial literacy, the exploration of career options, and more. The program will run from August 2012 to May 2013.

All class of 2013 students who meet two of the following three criteria are encouraged to apply!

  • First-generation college student
  • Student of color
  • Low income student (qualify for free/reduced lunch)

Please help us spread the word about this important program!   Let us know who we can contact about doing informational sessions at your school. And feel free forward this email to teachers, counselors, students, and other community partners whose youth can benefit from the Mentor2College program.

Download an application.

For best consideration, please apply by April 13, 2012.

Thank you,
